Kase’s Story
Kind And Silly Every day.
Kase is a 6-year-old autistic boy living in Central Illinois with his mom, dad, and sister. He was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in September of 2020, just weeks before his new sister was due to arrive and in the midst of a global pandemic.
Around the age of 2, Kase began to regress in speech and display several autistic attributes like spinning, flapping his hands, and lining up toys and household items. A few weeks after being diagnosed, he began attending Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy. In a matter of months, Kase was using a new communication system, responding to structured learning, and thriving in a new environment.
As Kase’s family learned more about autism and the lack of services and resources available to many, they decided to use their talents and support systems to make a difference.
The KASE Project was formed in September of 2021 in an effort to increase awareness for autism and raise money for our local community. The guiding light of our organization is that 5-year-old boy named Kase, who inspires us to be Kind And Silly Every day (KASE). What started as a hopeful craft-sales project has turned into a growing community of loyal supporters committed to our cause.
As Kase continues to grow and evolve, so will The KASE Project. We hope to inspire our community to lead with kindness and make our communities a more acceptable and accessible place to live.
