The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is hosting sensory friendly hours in Conservation World at the Illinois State Fair between 9:00am and 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13 and Saturday, August 17. Visitors will enjoy programming and exhibit adjustments that will create a quieter, more calming environment for children and adults with sensory processing sensitivities.
The KASE Project team was excited to provide the IDNR staff with our SMART training, providing guidance and recommendations for activity accommodations and tips for assisting the neurodivergent population in Conservation World.
If you’re interested in attending the sensory friendly hours, you should enter the fairgrounds at Gate 7 and park on Buffalo Drive where there will be flags to guide you toward the quieter entrance.
